A microdrama is a vertical series of short episodes, usually a minute or two each, where every episode ends on a hook. Promvie produces them from one premise. You create a series with its cast and a season premise, the showrunner drafts the episode list with a credit estimate, and each episode is written, storyboarded and rendered in 9:16 with spoken dialogue and sound. The cast is shared across the season, so faces and voices hold from the first episode to the finale. Series are part of Director's Choice at $29 a month.
Choose 9:16 and every episode renders in portrait, from the storyboards to the export. Dialogue is spoken inside the video, with lip movement and room sound rendered in the same pass. Lines are kept short, one per shot, and the listener reacts on screen, which is how the genre plays on a phone.
Finished episodes export as MP4 files and can be posted to TikTok or uploaded to YouTube from the app, or shared with a watch page link.
Director's Choice is $29 a month with 2,000 credits. A one-minute episode on the Fast preset starts around 720 credits, so the monthly credits cover about 2 episodes of one minute; Seedance 2.5, the highest-quality model, costs 30 credits a second. Extra credits come in packs at up to 25% off for members, and the showrunner shows the estimate for a season before you start it.
