How Promvie keeps a character the same

• The cast comes first. Characters are detected from the script, each one gets a description and a portrait, and you can edit the description or regenerate the portrait before any video is rendered.
• The portrait goes into every render. When a scene is filmed, the portraits of the characters in it are attached as references, so the model draws the face from the image instead of inventing it again from words.
• Voices are cast too. Each character gets a short voice sample, attached to every take where that character speaks, so the voice holds from scene to scene. You can describe the voice you want and Promvie makes the sample from that.
• Long scenes continue instead of restarting. A scene longer than one take renders in parts, and each part picks up from the end of the previous one, so a conversation does not reset halfway through.
• Places stay put. A recurring location gets its own reference image and scenes set there start from it, so the diner in scene two looks like the diner in scene seven.

Why characters drift in most AI video

A text-to-video model invents a person from the words in the prompt every time it runs. Two prompts that both say "a tall detective in a gray coat" give you two different detectives. Creators work around it with character sheets and the same reference image pasted into every clip, which works but turns a short film into an afternoon of bookkeeping.

Promvie does that bookkeeping for you. The reference set is built once, stored with the movie and attached automatically to every scene, and the script, the storyboards and the shot plan all refer to the same named characters.

Getting the most consistent results

• Describe what should never change: age, build, hair and one signature piece of clothing. The portrait and every scene prompt start from that description.
• Fix the portrait before you render. Changing a portrait is quick, while re-rendering scenes costs video credits.
• Match the model to the cast size. MiniMax H3 Max on the Fast preset and Wan 3.0 Prime carry up to 4 character portraits per take. Seedance 2.5 accepts up to 30 reference images, which holds a larger ensemble.
• Set the style once. Photoreal, anime, 3D animation or a hand-drawn look: the portraits, storyboards and scenes are all generated in the movie's style, so the cast and the world match.
• Use a series for recurring characters. On Director's Choice, a series keeps one cast across every episode, so episode ten uses the same faces and voices as episode one.

Questions

Can I upload a photo to use as a character?

No. Promvie designs each character from a written description and generates the portrait. You can rewrite the description and regenerate the portrait until it looks right, but photo upload for characters is not available.

Do characters stay the same across different videos?

Within a movie, yes, automatically. Across videos, use a series on Director's Choice: the series cast is shared by every episode, and characters keep their portraits and voices when new episodes are added. Without the plan, each movie has its own cast.

Does it work for animated characters?

Yes. The visual style is set once for the movie and the portraits, storyboards and scenes are all generated in it, whether that is photoreal, anime, 3D animation or a storybook look.

Can I use the videos commercially?

Yes, with Director's Choice. Subscribers can use what they make commercially, for example on a monetized channel, in ads or for clients, and the plan removes the Promvie watermark. Other accounts, credit pack buyers included, are for personal use.

What does it cost?

Starting is free and needs no card: the script, the cast portraits and the storyboards cost nothing, and you get a free video preview of one scene. Free accounts can start 2 movies a month; any credit pack or Director's Choice removes the limit. More video is billed per second of finished footage: 12 credits a second on the Fast preset, 28 on Wan 3.0 Prime and 30 on Seedance 2.5. Credits come in packs, starting with the $5 starter pack (300 credits, about 25 seconds of video on Fast).
