How Promvie turns a prompt into a movie

Traditional filmmaking has dozens of moving parts — writing, casting, shooting, scoring, editing. Promvie collapses all of them into four stages you can work through in minutes. Each stage is powered by a specialised AI system, and each one is editable before you commit.

Stage 1 — Idea

Every movie starts as an idea. Promvie expects exactly that — a single sentence, a rough direction, a title you've been sitting on. From that seed it proposes a logline, a genre, and a tone, and invites you to adjust any of them. You can keep refining the premise or jump straight to the script; the rest of the pipeline adapts to whatever you commit to here.

Stage 2 — Script

AI writes a professional screenplay.

Promvie drafts a full screenplay in industry-standard format: scene headings, action, dialogue, character cues. It handles pacing — short scenes for a thriller, breathing room for a drama — and names each character consistently across the script. Every line is editable. You can rewrite a monologue, shorten a scene, or re-roll the whole script if you want a different take.

Stage 3 — Cast

Design characters that stay on-model.

Promvie extracts every named character from the script and generates a visual design for each: face, body, costume, colour palette, silhouette. These designs become the reference the video stage uses to keep characters consistent. If the detective doesn't feel right, regenerate them; the whole film updates in place so you never have to redo earlier work.

Stage 4 — Studio

Storyboard, render, score, cut.

The Studio stage is where Promvie turns the script into an actual movie. Each scene is broken into shots with camera angles chosen to match the beat. Each shot becomes a storyboard frame, then an AI-rendered video clip. A score is composed scene by scene, ambient effects are layered on, and the whole thing is cut together into a finished film. You can approve each stage as it goes, or let it run end-to-end and review the final cut.

How long does the full pipeline take?
Typical short films finish in about 15 minutes of wall-clock time. Script and cast generation take seconds; most of the time is AI video generation, which runs in the background so you can close the tab and come back.
Do I have to approve every step, or can I let it run?
Both modes are supported. You can steer every stage if you want control, or let Promvie run the full pipeline end-to-end and only review the final cut.
What happens if I don't like a generated shot or piece of music?
Every element is re-rollable without rebuilding anything else. Regenerate a shot, swap a music cue, redesign a character, or rewrite a line of dialogue — the rest of the film stays intact.
Is this better than prompting a single AI video model directly?
